Video: How will they learn?

Answer: via a digital device

Reasons:

  • Most people in the world today do not have access to high quality English teaching.
  • Access to the internet is cheaper than access to classrooms.
  • The cost of  teachers remains constant while the cost of technology is constantly dropping.
  • The developing world will be able to afford internet access before they can afford English teachers.

Therefore more people will lean English using technology than without it.

How affordable are classrooms:

The average income of a citizen of planet earth is $10,000 USD, in 70% of countries it is less than this, in 50% of countries it is less than $5,000. This puts qualified teachers out of their reach.

Example:

Tanzania, a leading country in its continent for internet access and e-commerce.

Tanzania GDP per capita $1300 USD (source)

A 12 week General English course at BC Tanzania costs $261.39 USD (source)

It costs 20% of the average income to take this course - not a viable option for most.
